Lancome - 'Teint Idole Ultra 24hr' Review

Love: Amazing medium to full coverage, natural dewy finish, gorgeous smell.
Negatives: Little dry patches.

At the start of July, I was on the market to find a new foundation especially as I was attending a wedding in July and I was keen to find a long lasting, full coverage foundation as I didn’t want to have to touch it up all day. So I headed into boots and the first counter that caught my eye was the Lancome stand because of the vast amount of foundations laid out, so I knew there had to be something there. I was tempted to stick with Rimmel or Maybelline but I was afraid I might not pick up the right colour. I met one of the girls at the counter and I explained I needed a foundation to last all day and match a medium tan – I used Vita Liberata Tan (which I will review in a later post ). Sometimes it can be difficult to match tan and make up perfectly so it is definitely a good idea to ask questions and try out the foundations.

I ended up with the Lancome – ‘Teint Idole Ultra 24hr’ foundation in shade 035, I was happy out with my purchase. With this foundation, there were so many different shades to choose from – ranging from very fair [005] to dark [15]. If you’re not sure what shade would suit you best be sure to ask anyone at the counter as they will match you up and you are bound to find a shade that suits you – definitely nothing worse than picking up a wrong colour.

On the morning of the wedding, I did my make-up first thing around 9.30-10am after cleansing my face. By 4pm when we arrived at the hotel for the reception after all the pictures and chats - my make-up was still intact, I was over the moon. Through – out the day and into the night, all I had to do was powder my nose an odd time as it got a little shiny.

I feel for any foundation out there, a good primer is key for a smooth long lasting wear but this Lancome foundation by itself has fantastic coverage. It comes in at the price of €35 - €37.50, slightly expensive but I have noticed you only need about two to three pumps for your whole face, so it lasts super long. It comes out slightly runny but it glides onto the face so well.

(The look on the day)

I have a slight tan after the summer so 035 suits me at the moment but when it wears off I will definitely purchase a new lighter one to match my complexion. I have normal to dry skin so it suited me perfectly but on the back it says oil free, so I say it would definitely suit someone with oily skin. The little thing I love about the foundation is the subtle yet sweet smell it has – that made the foundation even more appealing to me and I also love the packaging. One little down side I will say about it is this foundation is it was a little drying. I prepped my skin for this foundation but I should have prepped a week ahead if I had more time. It clung to my cheeks a little bit. It wasn't fully noticeable but I saw it a little when I checked myself in a mirror during the day. Even though that happened, I will still use this foundation as it has so many positives.

You can purchase this foundation in any Boots, Debehams, Brown Thomas and Pharmacies nationwide:

Or online at

I can’t emphasise how much I would recommend this foundation, it is now one of my favourites.

Until next time beauties,

A x
